Colombia Co-Inspira Peacebuilding Program
Co-Inspira is an adaptive, locally-led approach to peacebuilding in Colombia’s conflict-affected territories. It engages hundreds of social leaders and government representatives in researching, designing and implementing peacebuilding initiatives to meet local concerns and aspirations for peace, and creates constructive relationships and integration with departmental and national level political processes. The program began by researching and prioritising peacebuilding initiatives to meet local concerns and realities, which are then being implemented in 12 municipalities in the Department of Cauca.
Co-Inspira utilises Systemic Action Research (SAR) methodology, which is a participatory and collaborative approach that seeks to understand and solve complex problems from a systemic perspective. Peacebuilding initiatives have been designed through participatory research throughout Cauca, and are being implemented via an action research and networking approach that scales participation and impact over time. Five peacebuilding themes have been prioritised, including womens’ empowerment, youth interactive communications, local economic development, consolidating territorial organisations, and water and environmental conservation.
Co-Inspira invites interested parties to join them to collaboratively build sustainable peace in Colombia. For more information, visit the official Co-Inspira webpage.
